The Image Tiles block has similar layout options to the Tile Grid block, but each item is just an image with overlaid text, linked to an internal or external web page or file.
Settings for the block are:
Number of columns: 1, 2, 3 or 4 (this is the maximum, actual columns may be reduced at narrower screen widths)
Grid Balance: if enabled, this will ensure that there aren’t empty spaces in the final row of the block, which is achieved by automatically by spanning some tiles over two columns
Data inputs for each image are:
Title: this should be kept fairly short and is only for reference
Image: add an image from the Media Library or uploaded from your computer; the minimum size for images is 592 x 333 px, so images smaller than that will be greyed out in the Library and uploads will fail.
Overlay Text: this should usually be kept fairly short
Link Type: select the resource type you want to link to (if any) and its input field will appear below
- Page Link: a searchable list of all your site pages will appear
- File Link: you can select from the Media Library or upload a new file
- External Link: paste in a web address of a web page or file
See the Image Tiles example page.
